The Temperate Rainforest

The temperate rainforest combines a short film and a set of images to show the beauty of this often-forgotten treasure. The species of lichen found in the temperate rainforests of the west coast of Scotland are endemic to these areas. This project explains why these areas exist and why the lichen population in these areas are so prolific

We delve into the temperate rainforest through interviews with a lichenologist and a member of the native wood cooperative. We discuss the threats faced by this habitat and explore potential solutions. Additionally, we highlight the beauty of these habitats and stress the importance of their proper management.
